About

The Kishi-Kimura Family History Project involves researching, documenting, sharing, and storing information about the Kishi and Kimura families on this website. Photos, stories, interviews, news articles, book excerpts, historical documents, maps, genealogical data, and links to others’ research about the families, will be published for family members, interested parties, and future generations.

Although much research and writing has already been conducted by others about the Kishi and Kimura families, their interesting and important family histories needs to be further documented and shared with family members and future generations and recorded for posterity before it is lost.

The developer of this site is Neil Kishi, a retired elementary school teacher who resides in Coquitlam, BC. Both his parents and their families were interned at Christina Lake, BC during World War II where they met and subsequently raised their family. Neil is a Japanese Canadian sansei.
